Project Overview
I implemented a complete Meta Ads tracking system for an ecommerce business by combining browser-side tracking (Meta Pixel) and server-side tracking (Conversion API) using Google Tag Manager. My goal was to ensure accurate data tracking and improve overall campaign performance.

Problem
I identified that the store was losing valuable tracking data due to iOS privacy updates, browser restrictions, and ad blockers. This resulted in inconsistent conversion tracking and poor optimization signals.
Solution
I built a hybrid tracking system using Meta Pixel and Conversion API through GTM. This allowed me to capture accurate user data from both browser and server, significantly reducing data loss.
What I Implemented
→ I set up Meta Pixel through Google Tag Manager
→ I integrated Conversion API (server-side tracking)
→ I configured key ecommerce events (PageView, ViewContent, AddToCart, InitiateCheckout, Purchase)
→ I implemented event deduplication between browser and server events
→ I enabled Advanced Matching to improve tracking accuracy
→ I created a proper Data Layer for dynamic event tracking
→ I tested and debugged events using Meta Events Manager

→ I used Google Tag Manager (Web + Server container)
→ I worked with Meta Pixel and Conversion API Gateway
Implementation Process
→ I audited the existing tracking system
→ I configured GTM for browser-side tracking
→ I deployed Meta Pixel with proper triggers
→ I set up server-side tracking for Conversion API
→ I passed essential event parameters (value, currency, content_ids)
→ I enabled deduplication using Event ID
→ I tested events in real-time
→ I verified event match quality and accuracy
Result / Outcome
→ I improved overall tracking accuracy
→ I increased Event Match Quality (EMQ)
→ I reduced data loss from iOS and ad blockers
→ I created a reliable data system for better ad optimization
